I am so excited to share this wonderful find with you all! Hedge Wych is a small company which offers handmade soaps, skin care, fragrances and other gorgeous things! The company is 100% vegan ( so hard to find ) and contains natural ingredients based on essential oils, plant oils, butters and natural colours. Think LUSH but without the overpowering smell that gives you a headache! My family and I have been testing out soaps, bath salts and balms for a few weeks now so I could give a fair review. I am so impressed with the balance of aromas and the feel of all these products on our skin. I am super sensitive and therefore very careful about what I use on my skin, and even my hair. So I now have beautiful soaps and balms which are not only kind to me, but kind to the animals, environment and as an extra bonus are crafted by a small company.
My hands seem to be most sensitive and although I got my eczema under control years ago I still have little patches crop up now and then which are so tricky to get rid off. The other balms and lotions we used previously are not vegan and since being vegan I have struggled to find a great balm that I can rely on. Zoe, the founder of Hedge Wych, gave me a sample of her Provence Hand Balm some time ago and it was absolutely lovely to use. Silky smooth, incredibly smell and, yes, I have soft hands and no patches of eczema. As long as I make sure I dry my hands well after washing and use the balm every day, my hands are no longer red and itchy. Thank goodness for that! My Husband uses the Black Tie Balm, he is also prone to both eczema and psoriasis and is finding it just as good for his hands. We used to use Pommade Divine, which has a bit of a cult following but it contains a number of animal derived ingredients so is an absolute no-no for us. I am so happy to find an alternative that works just as well. There are 6 different balms to chose from, we use Provence and Black Tie.
It’s hard to say what my favourite product is but the Bath Salts are hard to beat. I got out of my first bath with them thinking, ‘that is the best bath I have ever had!’ I am not exaggerating ( or being paid to say this!! ). It does make your skin soft and lovely but really the smell is what really hits you. We have the Starry skies Salts, which contain Lavender, Orange and Patchouli. It is a heavenly combination. The Salts come in a reusable jar with a cute little wooden scoop and what is really cool, you can buy refill bags for future purchases, and just refill and reuse the original jar. I love this!
We tried a few soaps, they all look colourful and beautiful. I can throughly recommend the Sea Spray, which is super refreshing after a workout. It has a subtle smell of Eucalyptus and May Chang essential oils and a salty sea feel about it. I also liked the Wych Craft, which is a stronger smelling soap with Tea Tree and Peppermint, made especially for those with problem skin but a really zingy soap to wake you up in the morning.
Hedge Wych also stocks Soy Wax melts and oil burners, which I will be ordering next, along with some body oils I must try too. I also got soap dishes and bags, plus Konjac sponges which were much cheaper than I previously got them for.
Everyone in my house is already thinking of our next order, maybe I’m even soaping myself a bit more than I need to so the soap runs out! I just want to try everything! But in all seriousness, I think about what I buy and from whom, a lot more since being vegan. While there are a lot of vegan products, they’re not always natural nor do they think as carefully about packaging and the environment. So I am always keen to share my finds like this, especially when they exceed my expectations. Hats off to Hedge Wych for creating outstanding products and satisfying this very fussy customer.
Note: I have not been paid to do this review nor I have I received these products in exchange for one. This is an honest account of a personal purchase.
