A really fresh and supremely healthy Green Smoothie, this uses a herb as the only ‘green’ in the recipe. I love Sorrel, it has a naturally lemon taste of it’s own and is a fantastic addition to a smoothie. It offers lots of fibre, like all leafy greens, and is high in Vitamin’s C and A and a great source of potassium, magnesium and iron.
You’ll need a blender for this recipe.
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Makes one medium smoothie or smoothie bowl
- large handful of Sorrel
- 1/2 Lemon
- 4-5 bananas
- 1 dessertspoon peanut butter
- 2 medjool dates
- 750ml water- optional, omit for smoothie bowl
- Peel the lemon and chop up half and add to your blender.
- Add all other ingredients and blend on high until smooth.
- Serve immediately.
