Health, food and fitness have been passions of mine for most of my adult life. Originally I trained as an aromatherapist, over 20 years ago, which was the start of my interests in learning more about health, wellness and healing. Born in New Zealand, but now in London with my daughter Ruby and husband Liam, who both contribute to my blog occasionally. I have a Diploma in Nutrition and the Plant Based Nutrition Certificate through Cornell University and the T Colin Campbell Centre for Nutrition Studies.
I have been on my own journey with food, weight, fitness, hormones and everything in between. I started life as a farmers daughter in rural New Zealand, eating a diet high in meat and dairy, as is typical of Kiwi farming families. As a teenager I became vegetarian, but realised in my late 30’s that the only ethical choice I could make was to go completely vegan. For me there really is a clear and simple message in veganism, animals are not things for us to use as property. I hope to show people through my blog that you can lead a healthy, exciting and full life without intentionally causing unnecessary harm to other sentient beings. I have hypothyroidism and had multiple hormone disorders while trying to balance my thyroid, you’ll find some of my experiences on that in my hormone health section.
While I am a keen student, spending a lot of time researching, reading and studying as much as I can about health and fitness, my goal is to simplify what I have learnt to help ordinary people live a more natural, balanced and healthy life.
